"Please don't waste my ink!"

You've seen them before: you've clicked on a "print" link and all it has done is print the whole site for you in its full glory! The multitude of colours, banners, navigation links, adverts... things that you just don't want nor need on a piece of paper!

That's one of the beauty of using CSS - it allows you to create media-specific styles for any document. You can create styles for the web (like the one used to create this site), another for printer, another for mobile and handheld devices, and many more.

And it's so easy to create a print style without even changing your original (x)html.

To prove this I've created four printer-friendly pages - one for each new design and this accessibility page - by stripping my sites of presentational images and disabling unnecessary information which is useless in printed format, for example navigational menus.

My printed content has not been given fixed width sizes therefore it will expand to fit into papers of any sizes (e.g. A3, A4, Posters) or any format (i.e. landscape or portrait).

How to print

You can print my content via your browser menu "file > print preview > print" or by using the keyboard shortcut "CTRL+P".

I'm user friendly!

I've built my web pages so that they're readable and usable without style sheets for browsers that do not support them.

My content is organized logically, in linear fashion with navigation links placed at the bottom of the file therefore my content is displayed in a meaningful order even when style sheets are turned off or not supported. You can check this for yourself by copying my source code (right click on any page and choose "view source" or choose "view > source" from your browser menu), saving it as a html file and then opening it. Alternatively, if you're able to, disable the stylesheet from the browser and see the content.

I have also created the page links after the content so you can view the content first and the links afterward.

The thing I like most in any site is that it is easy and pleasing to the eye and I can find anything that I'm looking for with great ease. In order to achieve this a designer should think from the user's perspective and always put functionality and usability before presentation (unless the situation permits it). I always try to incorporate these fundamental rules when I create a site and hopefully it shows.

You can check my site for accessibility using the Bobby validator.

I'm a standard-compliant site

My site has been written in valid XHTML, that is to say that it is free from any code errors. I've tried my best to make sure that my XHTML code complies with the standards set by the W3 Consortium (the organisation that issues the web's HTML standards), and that the code is optimised for search engines through the unique CSS page structure that I create.

I've also used valid Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to create the look and feel of my website and have separated the content from design. I've endeavoured to control all design features by the style sheet and have created it to be multi-browser compatible.

I always aim to create high impact design which are exciting, fresh, professional and has a 'wow' factor!

Why not use the W3 Consortium's own validators to check my XHTML and CSS?!

Impressed?

And so you should be! I've put many hours of hard work to meet all these standards and create a site that will visually stimulate you. I'm confident that you'll love my sites!
